Why aren't the books and films included in the program price?
iCEU Central must adhere to copyright laws for all the intellectual property that inspires our curriculum. The price of our programs include: the curriculum and RID CEUs processing fees. The books and films need to be obtained by the participants independently for us to stay within copyright statutes. This does not apply to 'open source' materials that can be found on YouTube or other free streaming platforms. When a film or book is 'open source', iCEU Central will provide you with the link (film), or PDF text (research reads, medical terminology book, etc) upon registration. For Cultural Film Projects,...
Where do I find the Canvas link to Book Club sessions?
Canvas is a separate, free, on-line educational platform that you are invited into after you register for a monthly book club session. All invitations and links to the course will be sent to the email you gave upon registration. If you haven't received any communications after registering for a book club, first check your spam/trash folder, and next double check the email that you paid/registered with. Then contact us at: manager@icecentral.com to problem solve.
For the Book Club, what if I post late? Do I get full credit?
The monthly book clubs offer guided weekly posts to keep the group in discussion together; however, we understand that life is unpredictable and sometimes you need to post late. For whatever reason, late posts sometimes happen! Do not stress. There are instructions given after registration to inform the facilitator if you need to post late. You are never penalized for posting late, and you...
Can I repeat a project to deepen my learning?
For RID CEUs: Yes, if it is in a new 4-year cycle period. This is very helpful for medical specializations - like medical terminology or RX Learning for Interpreters, or if you are working in a specific cultural group that you want to review/deepen your awareness around intersectionality. RID acknowledges that you may not retain all your learning after a 4 year cycle, so you can repeat projects to refresh your skills once your new cycle begins.
Can I get BEI and other Non-RID credit?
Yes, we service all interpreters and state licensure/certification organizations for Continuing Education Credits that accept the RID stamp of approval. Your Certificate of Completion will list the education clock hours and CE Units (CEUs) for state board requirements (i.e.: BEI, ACET, & spoken-language interpreter certifications) as well as the RID CEU total. Reminder: Check the requirements for document submission with your organization and we will be sure you get what you need.
